When we talk of Middlesex where do we mean?

The County, the Province or the Tribal Lands?

It's possible you didn't even realise there is a choice!

We do know that anyone who says Middlesex
‘doesn’t exist’ is talking out their hat.

The assumption that because the County Council was abolished Middlesex is abolished is fanciful - did Middlesex not exist before 1889? For that is the very recent date the Middlesex County Council was formed.

And as you will read and learn,
nothing could be further from the truth.

Federation of Middlesex Sports

The Federation of Middlesex & City of London Sports was launched in 1988 at the first ever Middlesex Sports Awards by Sue Barker.

The FMS went from strength to strength in its own very unique way and celebrated its 21st birthday in 2009.

It was founded by Russell Grant, the Lord of Ashford in Staines, Middlesex and Fred Griggs and Sir Peter Yarranton - sadly both Fred and Peter have now passed away.

The Federation recognises the historic boundaries of the County of Middlesex, twixt Thames, Colne, Lea and Grimsdyke.
